POSITION SUMMARY
Second Harvest Food Bank is seeking a friendly, organized, and compassionate individual to join our Bayou Region team as a Front Office & Pantry Assistant. This part-time role is essential to creating a welcoming environment for visitors, volunteers, and clients. The ideal candidate will manage front desk operations, assist with emergency food pantry services, and greet and check in volunteers arriving for their shifts.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and volunteers.
· Answer phone calls, direct inquiries, and provide general information about services.
· Maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
· Manage sign-in sheets and visitor logs.
· Assist with the intake and distribution of food to clients in need.
· Help organize pantry inventory and restock shelves as needed.
· Ensure clients are treated with dignity and respect during service.
· Welcome and check in volunteers arriving for scheduled shifts.
· Provide basic orientation and direct volunteers to their assigned areas.
· Communicate with community outreach coordinators regarding attendance and needs
· Maintains a professional, positive, and courteous demeanor.
· Performs other duties as assigned to meet company needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

· Emergency Food Pantry: The pantry is a hands-on environment where food is sorted, stored, and distributed. It may involve light physical activity such as lifting boxes, restocking shelves, and assisting clients.
