This is a full-time position located at the
Capitol Annex Building in Baton Rouge, LA.
The Cultural Program Coordinator of the Louisiana Division of the Arts (LDOA) performs professional work in support of the production and management of both accessibility and arts education initiatives. As such, the position monitors and provides reports on behalf of both programs, and oversees initiatives including community engagement, professional technical assistance, and program development.
Applicants with experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply: teaching in an arts education setting - preferably K-12, grant writing and grant management, project management, and public relations. Knowledge of best practices in arts accessibility, ADA/504 compliance, and adult arts engagement for skill building or recreational purposes.

Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in the coordination of cultural development programs; arts administration, fine arts, or curatorial work; or planning or teaching an educational fine arts program; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in the coordination of cultural development programs; arts administration, fine arts, or curatorial work; or planning or teaching an educational fine arts program; OR
A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in the coordination of cultural development programs; arts administration, fine arts, or curatorial work; or planning or teaching an educational fine arts program; OR
An advanced degree plus one year of experience of experience in the coordination of cultural development programs; arts administration, fine arts, or curatorial work; or planning or teaching an educational fine arts program.
Experience Substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
Job Duties and Other Information
- Serves as the Louisiana accessibility liaison for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA), South Arts, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
- Maintains LDOA’s accessibility documentation and ensures all grantees have an accessibility self-assessment on file, as mandated by the NEA.
- Attends accessibility convenings, meetings, and trainings as appropriate on behalf of LDOA.
- Provides updates to staff on best practices in accessibility across all LDOA programs.
- Coordinates statewide programming and partnerships as appropriate in relation to accessibility, in, and accordance with the LDOA Strategic Plan.
- Works with under-served communities in the state including individuals with disabilities, incarcerated, and institutionalized individuals, the aging, and military veterans.
- Documents programs through a variety of medium to comply with reporting requirements and to communicate impact to the public.
- Coordinates national and statewide programming and partnerships as appropriate in relation to Arts Education in accordance with the LDOA Strategic Plan.
- Works with arts education communities throughout the state to promote programs including Poetry Out Loud and Virtual Professional Development.
- Assists the NEA, NASAA, and South Arts in arts education initiatives, as needed.
- Documents programs through a variety of medium in order to comply with reporting requirements and to communicate impact to the public.
- Creates and provides tailored technical assistance for accessibility and arts education to organizations and constituents across the state.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Position-Specific Details:
- Appointment Type: This is being filled as a probational appointment. Current permanent status state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment.
- Work Schedule: This is a full-time position that reports in-office. This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or overtime. This position may be required to travel.
