Job Overview
As an Executive Director of Housekeeping, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our establishment maintains the highest standards of cleanliness You’ll lead a dedicated team, overseeing all housekeeping operations to create a welcoming and pristine environment for our guests. Your expertise in cleaning, floor care, and housekeeping management will shine as you implement efficient processes and foster a culture of excellence within your team.
What you’ll do
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities to ensure exceptional cleanliness throughout the property
- Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff to uphold high standards of service and efficiency
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring all items are well-stocked and maintained
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules that optimize productivity while minimizing disruption to guests
- Collaborate with other departments to address guest requests and resolve any issues related to housekeeping services
- Maintain records of housekeeping activities, including staff performance evaluations and incident reports
Experience
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience overseeing a custodial operation of similar size and scope, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Possessing a Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) or certificate of completion for all contract requirement courses from the International Executive Housekeeper's Association as a Certified/Registered Executive Housekeeper (CEH or REH) is a plus; the Executive Housekeeper must earn this credential upon assuming the positions.
- Excellent communication skills, job knowledge, training experience, and customer service experience are required.
- Experience managing a diverse staff, to include employees with disabilities, is a plus.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
- Ability to work independently and recommend solutions to hospital environmental service problems.
- Competent with Microsoft Word, Outlook email, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Superior attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while attending to multiple tasks and demands at multiple facilities.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation is a plus.
