Woman’s Mother/Baby Unit incorporates the couplet care model to provide exceptional care to postpartum patients and their newborns. Our 84-bed unit focuses on the delivery of safe, quality-driven patient- and family-centered care that is individualized, equitable, and inclusive.
Responsibilities of the Patient Care Tech position include, but are not limited to:
- Supports Mother/Baby couplet care and family-centered care by assisting with individualized patient care, education, and comfort while treating patients and families with dignity and respect.
- Assists with basic patient care activities such as hygiene, feeding support, vital signs, intake and output, linen changes, and maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Performs assigned clinical tasks including maternal vital signs, catheter care, IV discontinuation, newborn heel sticks, glucose checks, and documentation, reporting abnormal findings to the RN.
- Assists with patient admissions and discharges, maintains accurate chart organization, and verifies patient identification.
- Maintains clean, stocked, and safe unit environment, including equipment cleaning and supply management.
- Adheres to infant safety and security protocols, including ID verification, safe infant transport, and monitoring the electronic infant security system.
- Follows all hospital policies, safety standards, and documentation procedures, including behavioral health protocols when applicable.
Hours
Days/Evenings combination of shifts between the hours of 7 am and 11 pm; Including every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Pay Range
$14.18 to $20.03 based on experience
