We’re looking for a Revenue Tax Director to join our Criminal Investigations Division.
One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been at the supervisory level or above:
Eight years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus five years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
A bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
An advanced degree or Juris Doctorate plus four years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law plus three years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

In this role, you will:
- Participate in conferences, conventions, and legislative committees to represent the department and in training seminars for agency staff and local taxing authorities.
- Approves investigative reports and accompanying documents for compliance with appropriate investigative standards, and for completeness, accuracy, and applicability of laws, regulations, policies, and principles of investigations.
- Drafts and interprets legislation applicable to the division.
- Formulates strategies, tactics, and action plans to achieve results.
- Anticipates long range challenges, and documents work performed and tracks performance.
- Analyzes reports, trends, economic conditions and other refined intelligence information to determine resource allocation.
- Determines budgetary requirements for the division and prepares reports for Executive Management.
- Approves division expenditures and prosecution and litigation referrals.
- Plans, develops, and implements objectives, policies. and procedures necessary to enforce the criminal statutes through a coordinated approach with other audit and enforcement functions in an efficient and expeditious manner.
- Confers and networks with Certified public Accountants, attorneys, district attorneys, law enforcement officials, local tax administrators representatives of other Louisiana state agencies and of agencies from other states, and with the Internal Revenue Service.
- Confers with other division directors and managers to coordinate, plan, provide information, resolve problems, and ensure that there is no duplication of function.
