White Oak is looking for an Admissions Coordinator for a long term health care facility.
An Admissions Coordinator in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) manages the entire intake process, acting as the primary liaison between hospitals, families, and the facility to ensure a smooth, compliant transition for new residents. They screen referrals for clinical and financial eligibility, conduct facility tours, manage bed assignments, and maintain census goals.
Key Responsibilities

Admissions Management: Coordinate the entire admission process, including screening incoming referrals, verifying insurance benefits (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance), and ensuring proper clinical documentation.

Customer Service & Marketing: Conduct tours for prospective residents and families, explain facility services, and build relationships with hospital discharge planners and physicians to boost referrals.

Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all admission paperwork, contracts, and records are complete, accurate, and compliant with state/federal regulations and HIPAA.

Internal Coordination: Work with nursing staff to determine appropriate room assignments and ensure the facility is prepared for resident arrival.

Reporting: Track daily inquiries, admissions, and discharges to provide reports on census and occupancy trends.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Usually 0-2 years of experience in healthcare admissions or marketing, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.

Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with anxious families and busy hospital staff.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Point Click Care.

Knowledge: Understanding of insurance, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and medical terminology.

Education: High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or marketing is often preferred.
