The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long term psychiatric are in coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana
The Ideal Candidate for this position will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and directives; knowledge of administrative practices, recordkeeping, and office procedures; the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism; strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines; and the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and anticipate administrative needs of executive leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in administrative services; OR
An advanced degree, or a Juris Doctorate, plus two years of experience in administrative services.
Experience Substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

In This Role, You Will:
- Relieve the Administrator of a variety of administrative duties in assigned functional areas, allowing leadership to focus on strategic and operational priorities.
- Compose, prepare, and transmit directives, assignments, and communications to facility administration staff on behalf of the Facilities and Hospital Operations Administrator.
- Draft, type, and distribute correspondence involving both routine and non-routine matters, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to organizational standards.
- Provide information and guidance to stakeholders, staff, and legislative liaisons and disseminates requested information to the public in accordance with established policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Assist the administrator with activities related to accreditation, licensing, and compliance with federal or state court orders.
- Monitor, document, and coordinate efforts to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Serve as a point of coordination between leadership, internal departments, and external agencies as assigned.
