The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for planning, organizing, and participating in daily warehouse operations. This includes receiving, documenting, storing, and distributing equipment and supplies, as well as managing warehouse inventory. The role also involves developing and enforcing operational, safety, and personnel policies and procedures. In the absence of the Purchasing Manager, the Warehouse Clerk will cross-train and provide coverage as needed.
Job Duties

Pack and unpack items for storage according to inventory procedures, process order requests.

Perform inventory counts and replenish pick areas based on reports.

Oversee unloading of materials, staging for inspection, and accuracy of receiving reports.

Route, schedule, pack, and prepare orders for delivery, load vehicles and coordinate deliveries and pickups.

Resolve discrepancies with accounting on invoices, packing slips, and receiving reports.

Conduct quality inspections for incoming and outgoing goods, complete related administrative tasks.

Perform physical inventories to verify stock and identify losses.

Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment as needed.

Supervise and maintain the warehouse parts tracking system; enter and correct data in computer systems.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations; keep warehouse and storage areas clean and safe.

Develop and document standard operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, and shipping materials.

Implement technological solutions for storage and distribution planning.

Participate in meetings and training to share information and support warehouse improvement goals.

Manage vendors for stock and non-stock items.

Prepare parts for maintenance activities.

Support management with special projects, workflow improvements, and other assigned duties.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requires interpersonal skills to coordinate with other departments on projects requiring the warehouse’s assistance.

Must have a good working knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand the application for use.

Strong record-keeping abilities and a high level of attention to detail are required.

Communicates clearly and concisely in a variety of communication settings and styles. Effectively tailors the message to the needs of the audience.

Strong organizational skills for inventory management and maintaining a clean workspace.

Ability to work independently and make logical decisions.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Inventory control / warehouse experience required (Minimum of 3 years).

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power point, and Outlook).
- Knowledge and ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to this job.
- Must be able to become certified forklift operator.
Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

5S or Lean Manufacturing.
