Responsibilities
- Safely operate your own Sprinter van to pick up and deliver packages across designated routes with precision and timeliness
- Load and unload packages efficiently, utilizing heavy lifting techniques and equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary
- Verify shipment accuracy by inspecting packages, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining detailed delivery logs
- Navigate route driving using GPS and route optimization tools to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with recipients, answering questions, and ensuring a positive delivery experience
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to maintain optimal performance and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow all safety protocols related to manual transmission operation, heavy lifting, moving packages, and handling fragile items
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and any incidents during routes for accountability and reporting purposes
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving preferred
- Proven delivery driver experience or similar roles involving route driving and package handling
- Experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles such as Sprinter vans; familiarity with manual transmission is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Ability to lift heavy packages frequently, demonstrating physical strength and stamina for moving items safely
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with loading/unloading procedures enhances efficiency on the job
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy lifting, moving items, forklift operation (if applicable), and use of pallet jacks
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines consistently
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism
