Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires proficiency in various payroll systems and accounting software, as well as strong analytical skills to support the organization’s financial operations.
Duties
- Oversee the full payroll cycle, including data entry, processing, and reporting.
- Utilize payroll software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, or Kronos to manage payroll functions efficiently.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and benefits administration.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Perform account reconciliation for payroll-related accounts and assist with general ledger accounting.
- Collaborate with human resources to ensure accurate employee records and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and maintain documentation for audits.
- Analyze payroll data for trends and discrepancies; provide insights to management as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in payroll management within corporate accounting environments.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Experience in manufacturing/job cost accounting is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets effectively.
- Background in tax experience related to payroll processing is advantageous.
