Position Overview:
As a Crawler Crane Operator in our client's shipyard, you will be at the forefront of our client's ship repair and construction projects. You will operate a crawler crane to lift, position, and transport heavy materials and equipment crucial to our client's shipyard operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a crawler crane to perform lifting and hoisting tasks in the shipyard.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks on the crane to ensure proper functioning.
- Interpret load charts and rigging plans to determine safe load capacities and lifting procedures.
- Collaborate closely with ground crews and signalpersons to execute lifts accurately and safely.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate crane operations with shipyard projects.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Keep detailed records of crane operations, maintenance, and inspections.
- Troubleshoot and address any equipment issues that may arise during crane operation.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of the crane as needed.
- Adhere to project schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid crane operator certification and required licenses.
- Proven experience as a Crawler Crane Operator in a shipyard environment, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of crane operation techniques, load charts, and safety protocols.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced shipyard setting.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant maritime regulations.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a shipyard team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing project demands.
