Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinical Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dietetics and a passion for improving patient health through nutrition. This role involves providing nutritional assessments, developing personalized diet plans, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care in both acute and long-term care settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate dietary needs and nutritional status.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans based on patient assessments.
- Provide education and counseling to patients regarding dietary practices, weight loss strategies, and health coaching.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to integrate nutrition into overall patient care.
- Supervise dietary staff in the implementation of nutrition programs and ensure compliance with dietary regulations.
- Stay updated on the latest research in physiology and dietetics to provide evidence-based recommendations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to nutrition services within the hospital or long-term care facility.
Experience
- A degree in Dietetics or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
- Experience in acute care settings is preferred, with a strong understanding of hospital systems.
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and health is essential.
- Familiarity with weight loss programs and health coaching techniques is desirable.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
