Ordinary Seaman (OS)
Job Summary
We are seeking a diligent and motivated Ordinary Seaman (OS) to join our team. The Ordinary Seaman will assist with the maintenance, operation, and sanitation of the vessel, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform general deck duties, including line handling, mooring, and anchoring operations.
- Assist in the launching and recovery of lifeboats and other emergency equipment.
- Handle cargo operations, including loading and unloading, under the supervision of senior deck officers.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as painting, chipping rust, and cleaning the vessel.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance of deck equipment and systems.
- Maintain a high level of readiness for emergency situations, including fire, man overboard, and abandon ship drills.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Stand watch on the bridge or deck as required, monitoring for hazards and assisting in navigational duties.
- Ensure proper lookout duties, maintaining vigilance for other vessels, obstacles, and environmental conditions.
