Overview
LWCC is seeking a Data Services & Analytics Intern to support the Information Technology Data Services and Analytics team. This is a part-time in-office position in Baton Rouge, LA.
This role is designed for a student interested in developing foundational skills aligned with data science, data architecture, and data analytics. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with enterprise data, analytics tools, and business partners while contributing to real-world projects that support data-driven decision-making.
Major Areas of Accountability
- Assist with data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development to support business and IT needs
- Support data preparation, cleansing, and validation activities to improve data quality and usability
- Help document data definitions, metrics, and basic data models used in analytics solutions
- Participate in analytics initiatives, proofs of concept, or improvement efforts involving reporting tools, datasets, or data pipelines

Education And Experience
The ideal candidate is a hard-working sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student who exhibits confidence and is eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Preferred
We are seeking a student in good academic standing pursuing a degree in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. Academic coursework or project experience in the following areas is preferred:
- Data analysis or analytics fundamentals
- SQL, Python, R, or similar programming/query tools
- Data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Introductory understanding of databases, data models, or data integration concepts
The candidate should be able to manage multiple responsibilities while delivering high-quality work and maintaining attention to detail.
