Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in epidemiology, healthcare analytics and reporting, health equity, nursing or public health; OR
A bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, biological sciences, behavioral sciences, health sciences or nursing plus one year of experience in epidemiology; OR
A master's degree in public health, epidemiology, biological sciences, behavioral sciences, health sciences or nursing.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Serve as a regional liaison for the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Section by coordinating epidemiologic activities, completing disease case reports, and collaborating with local hospitals and parish health units to ensure effective surveillance and follow-up.
- Monitor and evaluate surveillance data quality through electronic reporting systems, providing feedback and oversight to hospitals and parish health units within the assigned region.
- Analyze, interpret, and summarize infectious disease data to support disease prevention and control efforts, including preparation of reports for state and national databases.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to enhance disease surveillance, ensure timely case identification, and maintain complete and accurate reporting.
- Participate in disease outbreak investigations in coordination with regional and state public health partners and rapid response teams.
- Conduct interviews with individuals diagnosed or suspected of communicable diseases, identify contacts for referral and follow-up, and provide disease education and counseling.
- Maintain confidential case records, assist with surveillance system improvements (including IDRIS), respond to public and healthcare inquiries, and contribute to public health publications and community education efforts.
