Job Summary
We are seeking a mid-level Power BI & Data Specialist to support the design, development, and delivery of data-driven solutions for payment processing and financial systems at VCI. This role requires hands-on experience with Power BI, strong database skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and maintain data integrity in a regulated, cloud-native environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports to support business operations, compliance, and payment processing analytics.
- Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL Server, Azure SQL, Excel, third-party APIs) and ensure data quality, consistency, and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and deliver effective data visualizations.
- Support ETL processes, data modeling, and database management for operational and reporting needs.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards.
- Troubleshoot data issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Document data flows, report logic, and maintain technical documentation in Confluence or similar tools.
- Participates in Agile project management using JIRA and contributes to sprint planning and delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- 3–4 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or database development
- Proven experience with Power BI (dashboard/report development, DAX, Power Query)
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL) and proficiency in SQL
- Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred) and data security best practices
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and collaborative development environments
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation
- Background in payment processing, financial systems, or regulated industries
- Familiarity with legacy data migration and modernization projects
- Exposure to automation frameworks and scripting for data workflows
- Experience working with third-party payment gateways, payment processing systems, fraud detection systems, and compliance frameworks
