TITLE: Chemical Process Operator
DEPARTMENT (S): Operations
DIRECT REPORTS: None
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager - Hydrazine
POSITION SUMMARY
The Chemical Process Operator works with a team of Operators to perform production operation and shipping activities in a safe and environmentally sound manner, as directed by the Lead Operator.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Start-up, operate and shut-down equipment as directed by Lead Operator or Management
· Load tank trailers, trucks, totes, drums, and unload isotainers
· Outside operations and sample collection/analysis as required
· Prepare equipment for maintenance, work with maintenance to correct process problems
· Collect process samples
· Maintain operator log book of shift activities
· Prepare and pack-out blends as directed by Product Coordinator/Lead Operator
· Prepare and dispatch shipments as directed by Product Coordinator/Lead Operator
· Environmental, Health, and Safety
- Comply with the EHS Management System
- Participate in incident investigations
- Participate in ongoing housekeeping efforts
- Participate in Monthly safety meetings
- Complete training on time
· Maintenance of ISO 9000 certifications for the businesses by complying with processes, procedures, and instructions for all activities in which this role participates
· Is knowledgeable and complies with all pertinent safety policies, rules and regulations
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- AA/AS of Process Technology preferred, or equivalent experience required
- 5 years of plant experience compatible with anticipated advancement through Manufacturing Positions, including Lead Operator
- Knowledgeable in plant equipment and operations
- Knowledgeable in email, SAP, MS Word, MS Excel
- Understands Government regulations such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, DEQ, etc. and how they impact the day-to-day operation of the sight
- Able to respond quickly to emergency situations
- Willing to work shift work
- Willing to work 8 or 12 hour shifts
- Willing to work overtime
