We’re a fast-growing general contractor expanding our self-perform civil, municipal, heavy, and sitework operations while continuing to subcontract most vertical work. After incredible growth over the last 5 years, we’re building the next level of our preconstruction team.
We’re hiring a Estimating Manager — a senior estimator who leads our bid pipeline and produces high-quality estimates hands-on.
What You’ll Do
You’ll own civil precon from start to finish, including:
- Lead & manage the bid pipeline
- Organize bid calendar, go/no-go reviews, deadlines, and submissions
- Track subcontractor/vendor outreach, quotes, leveling, and scope clarity
- Prepare and review estimates (hands-on)
- Perform takeoffs, build estimates, and develop pricing for civil/sitework/heavy projects
- Review and mentor an entry estimator and support PM estimating contributions
- Develop and maintain production-rate/means-and-methods pricing
- Build and refine a real production-rate “playbook” tied to field feedback
- Ensure estimates reflect how we actually self-perform work
- Drive strong handoffs to Operations & PM
- Create clear assumptions, inclusions/exclusions, risk items, and turnover notes
- Support project teams through award and buyout
- Improve win rate and margin
- Run post-bid reviews to tighten pricing and targeting
- Help us bid smarter, not just more
Types of Work We Estimate
- Civil and municipal infrastructure
- Sitework, grading, utilities, drainage
- Heavy civil scopes
- Self-perform earthwork, utilities, concrete, and related field production
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 5+ years estimating experience in civil/sitework/heavy construction
- Strong takeoff + estimate build skills
- Real understanding of means & methods and production rates
- Ability to manage multiple bids/month in a high-tempo environment
- Comfortable leading a small team and owning outcomes
Preferred:
- Experience estimating self-perform civil scopes
- Municipal bid and compliance familiarity
- Background working with DOT/City/County/utility owners
- Estimating link, excel, Microsoft office 365, Stack, Planswift
