Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kennel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kennel facility. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and management, ensuring that all pets receive the highest level of attention and care. The Kennel Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
- Supervise daily kennel operations, including staff management and rotations.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the kennel environment for all animals.
- Oversee pet care routines, including feeding, bathing, and exercise.
- Train staff in proper animal handling techniques and best practices in pet care.
- Manage client communications, addressing any concerns or inquiries regarding their pets.
- Maintain accurate records of animal health, behavior, and care routines.
- Collaborate with veterinary professionals to ensure the health and well-being of all animals in the facility.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures as needed.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kennel or animal care facility is preferred.
- Strong skills in animal handling, and overall care are highly desirable.
- Background as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the role.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and staff.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals and a commitment to their well-being.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
