Job Duties:
The incumbent of this position performs tasks which assists with the Agricultural Commodities Commission in executing inspections. This position has the ability to work independently. Supervision for this position is received from an Agriculture Specialist or employee of higher level.

Responsible for testing for aflatoxin levels in corn or observing elevator personnel in the testing of aflatoxin.

Assists with taking required samples of agricultural commodities from barges and railcars.

Assists with the disposal of samples after all required test and holding period is complete.

Performs a visual inspection of barges and railcars prior to being loaded.

Ensures all noted irregularities are corrected.

Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Functional Requirements:

FGIS Aflatoxin Certification

Moderate light lifting, 30 pounds with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Walking and standing (8hours)

Climbing stairs and occasionally ladders

Reaching above shoulders and carrying specialized equipment needed to perform duties

Drive a vehicle to perform inspections

Climbing on and off transport
Environmental Factors:-
Working indoors and outdoors

Excessive heat and humidity

Slippery and uneven walking surfaces

Occasionally working in moderately cold temperatures for short periods of time

Exposed to grain dust, bad odors from farm animals, chemicals, fertilizers and other agricultural materials

Required to wear appropriate safety protection

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Location: This position is located within the
Agro Consumer Services (ACS), Richland Parish.
