Professional Painter – Sign Manufacturing Facility

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Painter to join our sign manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience applying high-quality paint finishes to metal, aluminum, and composite materials used in the production of commercial and industrial signage. This position operates in a fast-paced, production-driven environment, where accuracy, efficiency, and consistency are critical.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming materials such as aluminum, steel, and plastic.
· Mix, match, and apply paints, enamels, and coatings using spray guns or other equipment to meet color, texture, and finish requirements.
· Follow detailed paint specifications and shop drawings to ensure consistent color and finish quality.
· Inspect finished signs for paint defects or imperfections and perform touch-ups as needed.
· Maintain paint booths, tools, and equipment in clean, safe working condition.
· Work closely with production and assembly teams to meet daily job schedules and quality standards.
· Follow all OSHA and facility safety guidelines for handling paints, solvents, and cleaning chemicals.
· Assist with color testing, small-batch paint mixing, and recordkeeping of paint inventory.
Qualifications
· Minimum 2 years of professional painting experience (automotive, industrial, or sign manufacturing preferred).
· Proficient with HVLP spray systems, airless sprayers, and conventional paint systems.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to match custom colors and finishes.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of proper surface preparation and curing processes.
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Experience
· Experience painting on substrates such as aluminum, acrylic, PVC, and steel.
· Knowledge of powder coating, automotive refinishing, or sign industry materials is a plus.
· Familiarity with color-matching software or paint mixing systems.
Work Environment
Fast-paced production floor with multiple concurrent projects.
Exposure to paint fumes and chemicals (proper PPE provided).
