Job Summary
UpWaste is hiring a remote Receptionist to answer inbound calls, handle common questions, take orders, and ensure every caller gets fast, accurate help. You’ll provide first-touch support for customers, route complex questions to a closer when needed, and keep detailed notes. This role requires a strong phone presence, clear communication, and comfort using multiple web-based systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally; greet, triage, and resolve routine questions.
· Provide basic product/service info: dumpster sizes, accepted items, delivery ETAs, and pricing basics.
· Take and enter orders accurately; confirm addresses, dates, and service details.
· Check job status and communicate delivery/pickup timelines (e.g., “when will my dumpster arrive?”).
· Escalate/forward calls to a closer or supervisor when advanced pricing or negotiation is needed.
· Create clear call notes and follow-up tasks; document every interaction.
· Perform data entry and updates across multiple systems (customer portal, dispatch, admin panels, CRM).
· Coordinate with dispatch on urgent changes, access issues, and special instructions.
· Meet targets for response time, first-call resolution, and call quality.

Qualifications
· 1+ year in reception, call center, or customer support (logistics/waste/construction a plus).
· Excellent phone etiquette, listening skills, and clear spoken communication.
· Accurate typing and data entry; detail-oriented and organized.
· Comfortable multitasking across multiple browser tabs and systems.
· Problem-solver who knows when to escalate to a closer or supervisor.
· High-speed, reliable internet and a dedicated computer suitable for VoIP.
· Contingency plan for internet/computer outages (e.g., mobile hotspot/backup).
· Availability Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time.
Nice to Have
· Experience with CRMs and/or dispatch tools.
· Knowledge of accepted/prohibited items for roll-off dumpsters.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
