Join the LED team as a senior-level attorney providing high-impact legal guidance to executive leadership and program experts on matters relating to economic development initiatives in the state and general advice applicable to state agencies.
This position is located at the IBM Building in downtown Baton Rouge, LA.
Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice law plus three years of experience as a practicing attorney.

Job Duties:
- Serves as a senior level attorney, collaborating closely with executive leadership and program experts to support statewide economic development initiatives.
- Draft and review contracts, requests for proposals and other legal documents such as cooperative endeavor agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
- Draft or assist with rule promulgation.
- Advise staff on compliance with open meetings and ethics laws.
- Draft and review legislation related to LED programs, attend legislative committee meetings and hearings as requested.
- Review and respond to public records requests.
- Experience in real estate law, banking, compliance or complex commercial transactions desirable but not required.
Position Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment
Work Schedule: Typical office hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This position will work full-time, 40 hours per week, in the office. Remote work available on an ad hoc basis upon manager approval.
