This position serves as a Training and Development Specialist who will be responsible for training general audiences in basic subject matter related to service within the State Police Training Academy.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in planning, developing, delivering, or evaluating training programs or academic instruction; human resources, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
Experience Substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

- Design, develop, and update instructional strategies, materials, and aids (lesson plans, e-learning modules).
- Conduct workshops, presentations, and hands-on training sessions. Identify training gaps and needs at individual or organizational levels.
- Measure training effectiveness using performance data and attendee feedback. Provide support and guidance to staff and potentially newer specialists.
- Manage the organization and coordination of training events.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Job Appointment, or Promotional.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group
Training and Development Specialist 1/2.
Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
Location: This vacancy is located in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The bi-weekly rates for this position are as follows:
Training and Development Specialist 1 (AS612) - $1,348.80
Training and Development Specialist 2 (AS613) - $1,443.20
