The incumbent of this position serves as the Deputy Warden of B.B. “Sixty” Rayburn Correctional Center, a level of Care (LOC) 2 facility, housing adult male offenders with 300+ employees.
This position provides the incumbent the opportunity to work with a diverse group of professionals in a setting that is exciting and different every day.

One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been at the managerial level or above with direct-line supervisory responsibility over two or more subordinates:Four years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises plus one of the following:1. Six years of full-time experience in any field; or2. A bachelor's degree.ORA master's degree plus three years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises; ORA doctorate plus two years of supervisory-level experience in a correctional institution, penal institution, or prison enterprises.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by State and Federal laws is granted.In accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) (Part 115:17) of Title 28 of the Code of Federal Regulations an applicant who has been found to have engaged in any form of sexual abuse; engaged in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable or refused will be disqualified.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.
Assumes responsibility for the operations in the absence of the Corrections Warden 3. Mailroom/Visiting
Provides administrative authority over the entire Security Program.
Directs and coordinates all activities of all departments to ensure federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards and institutional goals.

Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
- Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
