Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Steward to join our team in a fast-paced restaurant and catering environment. The Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring that all food handling practices meet health and safety standards. Duties
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain a safe food handling environment.
- Assist in bussing tables and clearing dining areas after service to ensure a pleasant experience for guests.
- Support the kitchen staff by washing dishes, pots, pans, and other cooking equipment efficiently.
- Help with food preparation as needed, including basic cooking tasks during busy service periods.
- Participate in banquet setups and breakdowns, ensuring all catering events run smoothly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and sanitation standards is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards hospitality.
- Ability to lift moderate weights and stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
